We took Emily to the airport this morning. It was sad to see her go, but I think all three of us are looking forward to the new quarter/semester, and I’m already planning my trip home in April over my spring break.
After the airport, we cleaned, grocery shopped, did laundry, took a long nap, and did whatever else needed doing before we’re back in business tomorrow. I can’t believe Greg is already starting school again, and while I don’t start school for two more weeks, I am starting my new job. Have I mentioned my new job? I’m going to be taking care of an adorable 7-week-old baby 3 afternoons a week. I’m SO excited!
Before we’re back to our routine tomorrow (and getting serious about those resolutions), I still have one more batch of vacation photos.
On Friday night, we hit the town for some more awesome vegan food. This time, we went to Loving Hut.
We started with Fresh Rolls, which were good, but not the best we’ve had. We also ordered wontons (we forgot to photograph them), which were really delicious.
Lots of positive vegetarian words on the walls.
Greg ordered the Pho. I was skeptical about the mock beef, but it was actually really good.
I had the broccoli delight, of course. If there’s something on a menu with “broccoli” in the title, I’m all over it. Brown rice was an option, which I always love.
E’s vegetable stir fry (also delish).
I think it’s safe to say we enjoyed the food.
Happy + full. I order a slice of carrot cake to go. I couldn’t resist.
So serious. I told Greg this should be our album cover. You know, when we release our album.
We were so amazed by the bill that Emily had to take a picture. However, now that I’m looking at the numbers, the math seems to be wrong… Oops.
On Saturday we decided to hit the zoo one more time. We arrived just in time for the bird encounter!
Not gonna lie, I was jealous of this kid.
We hopped on the sky tram so that we could start at the other end of the park.
Have I mentioned that Emily is a genius when it comes to reflection photography?
We saw some animals that we hadn’t seen in previous visits.
Like this janky guy.
And these darling orangutans.
The gorillas were extra playful, and we had a good laugh watching baby Frank chase his dad around.
This monkey was teasing the hippos with a branch and jumping on their heads. It was so funny to watch.
We also saw lots of big cats that weren’t out the last time we were there, but they don’t hold still well for pictures.
Know what else we did this weekend? Watched Star Wars! I hadn’t seen those movies in AGES, and Emily had never seen them at all!
Now, Greg is making paella and we just opened a bottle of wine. Reading and relaxing (and maybe a movie) on the agenda tonight.
What were the highlights of your weekend?
