Since I’ve been hearing a lot about the lack of blog posts lately, here’s a quick rundown.
1. I’m applying to nursing school!
Something I’ve thought about for quite a while, and I’m finally going to give it a go. There’s an accelerated program at Cal State San Marcos, and that’s my top choice because it leads to a BSN in 24 months. Application stuff, prerequisites, and TEAS exam have been taking up a LOT of my time, but the end is near. I scored in the 98th percentile on my TEAS exam, so I’m glad that that’s out of the way.
2. I’m taking summer classes.
I needed 3 prerequisites in order to apply to nursing programs, and I wanted a shot at being considered for the upcoming spring semester. The advisor I spoke with suggested that I have everything completed and submitted by November, which gave me 4 months to complete the entrance exam and 9 credits of coursework. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to do it, but I found some self-paced online courses, and I’ve been able to pretty much blast through them. My public speaking course is complete, my logic final is scheduled for this Thursday, and I just have an English essay and final to go. I hope to have the essay submitted by the end of the week, and the final completed shortly after. I should have everything submitted to the program by mid-August, so I think I have a decent chance at spring semester. If it doesn’t happen, I’ll know that I definitely did everything I could.
3. I’m working a lot.
It’s a good thing to have so many hours after having my hours at work cut a few months ago, but I am totally beat! I feel like whenever I’m not studying, I’m at work. No fun. However, I have a very short and easy upcoming week because…
4. We’re leaving for Sweden on Friday!
Greg is presenting at a conference in Stockholm, and I’m tagging along! I’m so very excited, and I’m sure I’ll have loads of pictures to share upon our return.
As soon as I’m done with my classes and my application is submitted and I’m back from Europe, I’ll be back to the usual blogging routine. For now, back to work.
Thanks for inquiring about the blog.
